Meet Nicki

Counselling can help when we feel stuck, lost or overwhelmed and can’t find a way to make sense of those difficult feelings on our own.

I provide a safe, confidential counselling space to adults and young people who may be struggling with a range of issues.
I am also a Relate-trained therapist working with couples experiencing difficulties in their relationship.

COUNSELLING SERVICES

Adults

I work with people who may be dealing with issues of anxiety, sadness, stress, anger or loss.

I will provide a safe, confidential space and work with you to help you make sense of what’s going on in your life.

We can unravel experiences and relationships from the past that have impacted you and help you untap resources within yourself to enable you to move forward.

Teenagers

This time of life brings so many challenges: academic stress, family or friendship issues, self esteem and body image...

Speaking to someone who isn’t a friend or family member can help you to see a problem from a different perspective, without judgement or bias.

We can find the tools to strengthen your resilience and confidence.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

I always place the client's needs at the centre of the work. As an integrative counsellor I draw on different skills and approaches which best suit each of my clients,

I offer short-term work (6-8 weeks), including cognitive therapy,  if you are struggling with something happening in your life right now which is stopping you from functioning day-to-day. If you need to explore events and experiences from the past in much more depth, our work together would be longer-term.

An initial meeting can help us establish how best we could work together. If this is your first experience of counselling you may be feeling apprehensive: feel free to contact me with any questions, whether or not I am the right counsellor for you I can help you to understand how therapy works and what you can expect.

Experience and Professional Membership

Alongside private work, I have extensive experience working in the charity sector - within schools for Place2be, in a local bereavement counselling service, for mental health charity Mind, and as a couples therapist for Relate.
